Sky announces new Sky Glass with integrated TV service
There's no need for a satellite dish or a Sky box.
Sky is to launch a new TV called Sky Glass which has its premium service fully integrated.
This means that customers will now be able to stream Sky TV over their home wi-fi connection so a separate Sky box and a satellite dish are no longer required.
The Quantum Dot display is both 4K and HDR capable with a huge 8.3 million pixels so anything you watch will be rendered in crystal clear, brilliantly vivid detail.
The sound will also be of an equally impressive quality with six speakers, a sub-woofer and 360° Dolby Atmos all built in.
Sky Glass of course comes equipped with plenty of exciting features like a brand-new UI, Glance Motion Technology which sees it turn on when you walk past and the ability to start all kinds of live programs from the beginning.
It will be available to purchase from 18th October 2021 in white, black, pink, green and blue and three different sizes. Small at 43” which will cost £649, Medium at 55” which will cost £849 and Large at 65” which will cost £1,049.
Alternatively, customers can opt to pay in monthly instalments of £13, £17 or £21 respectively.
Sky has taken steps to ensure that Sky Glass is the first TV to be certified carbon neutral by Natural Capital Partners like including an auto-switch off feature and making the packaging recyclable.
