Can I get Sky Fibre?

The Sky broadband fibre services are delivered to your home over BT’s Openreach network. Sky Full Fibre Broadband uses Openreach’s FTTP or fibre-to-the-premises infrastructure, which is the latest technology that sees a fibre optic cable run straight from the exchange to your household, with no copper wires to bottleneck your speeds.

FTTP connections aren't yet as common as FTTC (fibre-to-the-cabinet) just yet, with around 60% of UK premises having access to it compared to around 98% for FTTC. However, Openreach is dedicated to their ambitious yet seemingly achievable goal of delivering ultrafast full-fibre broadband to 25 million UK homes and businesses by 2026, and as many as 30 million by the end of the decade, so if you find that you don't have access yet, you may not have to wait too long.
